Excursion
Amalfi Coast: the 'Divine
Departure from the hotel by GT bus to the port of Salerno.
The blue of the sea, the green of the Mediterranean maquis and the terraces cultivated with citrus fruits blend with characteristic architecture to create one of the most beautiful routes in Italy: the Amalfi Coast.
The guided tour will begin in Positano, an authentic corner of paradise, a crib-like town that, from the main beach, unfolds vertically in an intricate juxtaposition of streets, alleyways and shops displaying the colourful clothes of world-famous Positano Fashion. At the centre of Positano, the large majolica dome of the parish church of Santa Maria Assunta stands out, housing some precious works, including several polychrome marble altars.
At 12 noon, on to Amalfi: the warrior queen of the coast.
The oldest maritime republic, a symbolic place of the Amalfi Coast still enchants today. Little more than three square kilometres of haunting beauty at the mouth of the Valle dei Mulini: this is Amalfi, whose shoulders are covered by the rocks of the Monti Lattari and fan out towards the sea. 'For the people of Amalfi, the day they go to paradise will be a day like any other: because they already have paradise here, at home' (engraving on the town gate). A picturesque web of alleys and stairways, overlooking a sea of spectacular colours, is the landscape that enchants on arrival. The stop in Amalfi undoubtedly requires a visit to the Duomo di Sant'Andrea with the Chiostro del Paradiso (entrance fee). Free time for shopping or optional tours to be arranged with the guide (e.g. Ravello, Emerald Grotto, etc.).
At the end meeting at the port of Amalfi and continuation to return to headquarters.
