The Paestum Balloon Festival returns in 2025 with its traditional event scheduled from Saturday, September 27th to Sunday, October 12th.
The event, now in its 15th edition, will be held in the Paestum area, based at the archaeological site.
The Hot Air Balloon Festival has been a fixture at the beginning of autumn for years, a true ritual eagerly awaited by children and adults alike.
Paestum Balloon Festival 2025
The Festival offers the opportunity to fly over the temples of Paestum, blending history, emotion, and nature into a unique experience.
Two types of hot air balloon activities are available:
• Tethered flight: the balloons remain anchored to the ground with special ropes and rise to approximately 20-25 meters, offering the opportunity to admire the temples of Paestum from above.
Tickets are purchased on-site.
Limited seating is available.
Reservations are not available.
• Free flight (subject to weather conditions): departure from the archaeological area and safe landing at a flat spot identified during the flight. Participants will be accompanied to the take-off area aboard a motorized vehicle driven by the Festival crew.
Inflation and take-off: in the morning from 7:30 a.m. and in the afternoon from 4:30 p.m.
Flight duration: approximately 40 to 60 minutes.
Total experience duration including inflation, flight, and return: approximately 2 hours.

These are the costs for the Paestum Balloon Festival 2025:
• Village area entrance: €5 for ages 12 and up;
• Tethered flight for children: €10;
• Tethered flight for adults: €15;
• Free flight: contribution to the event.
The Paestum Balloon Festival area includes food courts with a bar, barbecue, and pizzeria.
As well as markets featuring local crafts.
