The beaches of the Cilento for me are all magnificent, I have “tested” almost all of them and many of them can be found on this blog. Today, finally, I have decided to make my personal list of the most beautiful beaches in the Cilento according to my point of view.
Trentova Bay can be found in southern Agropoli and features a sandy beach nestled between rocks. The beach takes its name from the rock of the same name where, legend has it, 30 seagull or turtle eggs were found inside the cave. There is also an evocative path here, the Trentova path or Tresino path.
The Fossa dell’Elice descent leads to one of my favourite beaches. The beach is pebbled and to reach it you have to take a short walk. The beach is not recommended for families and children.
The beach is currently closed as there is a landslide along the path.
The beaches of Acquabianca and Gozzipuodi in Pisciotta are actually a single stretch of beach that starts at the Port of Pisciotta and reaches Acquabianca. The beach is pebbles and a little sand, ideal for those who like places that are not very crowded.
Acciaroli’s Spiaggia Grande is one of the most popular beaches in the Cilento region. The beach is sandy and the seabed shallow, making it ideal for families and children.
Punta Licosa beach is one of the most unspoilt. Located in the protected marine area of Santa Maria di Castellabate, the shoreline of Punta Licosa is rocky and sandy in places. The harbour jetty is very popular for sunbathing in summer.
The Spiaggia dei Francesi or Marcellino beach is one of the most beautiful beaches on the southern coast of Cilento. It can only be reached by sea or via the Marcellino path, which is very difficult, and has a pebbly shoreline that leads into the water. The seabed is wonderful.
The Troncone beach at Marina di Camerota is the only beach with a naturist section in Campania. The first strip of beach is open to all and there are two lidos, the last three coves, however, are reserved for naturists. The beach is sandy, but the sand is not very fine, and the seabed is quite deep.
Palinuro’s Molpa beach is a favourite destination for rock-climbing enthusiasts. Located below the Molpa cliffs, the beach is sandy with a few pebbles and the sea here is also very deep. From the beach it is possible to see the Rabbit rock.
The beach is currently closed to bathing.
The beach of Cala Bianca can only be reached by sea, or via the path of the Infreschi. The beach takes its name from the white sand, given by the pebbles. The seabed is wonderful, a must for those who love diving and snorkelling.
The beach at Baia degli Infreschi is by far my favourite. It has all the characteristics of my ideal beach: it is a small cove with pebbles surrounded by nature and with a wonderful seabed. There are three possible ways to reach the bay: by sea, via the path of the Infreschi or by car coming from Lentiscosa and driving along the last part of the path of the Infreschi.
Baia degli Infreschi, as well as the other beaches, are even more beautiful in low season.
